Sweet Tooth Cure...

Do you have a big sweet tooth like me?

I found the perfect solution.

Before you say anything
I know it's crazy,
but it's fun and it works!

My cure is...
Bath and Body Works Mint Chocolate Candle
If it was possible I would eat that candle. No kidding!
It smells so delicious,
and after I burn the candle for half an hour my sweet tooth disappears,
and in mean time I feel happy smelling the candle.
Plus you don't put on weight lol

Give it a try, you won't be sorry :)

A Juicy Purchase

It was a frustrating week and an exhausting weekend.
I'm tired, but happy to see all my friends before I leave for home.

I had already planned hauls and posts,
but like I said it was a frustrating week,
so I didn't have the energy to post those,
but don't worry I am back and going to post everything I have in mind.

So,

My first planned haul is from Juicy Couture.
You cannot even all it a mini haul,
because it consists of just one purchase,
but it's a hell of a purchase!

I saw that HauteLook had a Juicy Couture sale,
so I decided to check out what they have.
I wasn't going to buy anything I just wanted to see, you know...
...but of course I ended up ordering two things.
I just received the first one,

Yes it's a gorgeous Juicy Couture watch
and
it comes with 3 different charms (a crown, a heart, and the letter J with a crown at the top)

I wanted to buy a white watch for a while,
so I had the perfect opportunity thanks to HauteLook's sale.

but
there is one fault!
it's almost too small for my wrist.
Ok, I don't have my mother's size 0 wrists,
but c'mon this watch must be for Size 0s like my mom.
It barely fits,

(but I like my watches kind of loose on my wrist)

I never had such a problem with my DKNY or Guess watch.
So, I was quite surprised and disappointed.

Anyways...

Still,
it's a pretty watch
and I might change the wrist band
and then I will rock this watch! :)

The details are just amazing!
there are crowns everywhere
(which is JC's signature as you know)
the small nob on the side of the watch is a crown,
there is a crown and JC's name is printed on the face of the watch as you can see,
there is a crown printed on the buckle,
there is a crown on the heart, which is one of the charms that came already clipped to the watch,
there is a crown at the top of the letter J which is one of the three charms that came with the watch,
and
there are pink details on the minute and hour hand of the watch

I paid $137 for it
which might look a lot
but similar watches on Juicy Couture's website are much more expensive
and although this watch is not offered by Juicy Couture website anymore
it's the prettiest JC watch ever!

It's really white!
so it would look perfect when you tanned,
it looks great right now even though I am so not tanned

So, I am happy!
it was a good deal!

XOXO

Lorac Eye Shadow Challange

As it was requested I did the swatch for Lorac Baked Matte Eyeshadows.
However, I kept getting 'system failed' message when I wanted to upload the pictures I took.
So, I decided to try it tomorrow and concentrated on writing my thesis.
Here are the pictures after Blogger stopped acting out.

forced flash
I would say Posh would be a nice all-over-the-lid color as a base and/or for discoloration,
and Chic would be a nice highlighter, although I said the other way around when I posted Lorac Haul.

w/o flash

I had to pull an all-nighter so, I decided to keep the eye shadow swatches on
and see how long the eye shadows will last.
Of course times may vary when it comes to applying it on your eye lid.

So, first impression,
I can say that it blends easily.
I was expecting it to disappear when you blend it with a brush like the Hello Kitty palette eyeshadows,
but I was mistaken.
Although the color was slightly washed off when it was blended,
after 10 minutes the colors set in place.

and this is after 12 hours later.
It's long lasting, but easy to remove even with soap & water.

12 hours later

As you can tell light colors (Chic and Posh) didn't last unlike Social, Insider and Black.

Lorac Haul

Normally I don't like websites that require you to create an account just to check it out,
but after I had seen what Budgetbeautiful and others got from HauteLook
I couldn't help, but sign up for the website.

Basically, it's a bargain website.
However, I think the downside is; the products they sell are sometimes old versions.
For eg: You can't find those eyeshadow colors in Sephora or Ulta,
but still it's a steal for the brand you pay for!

So,

At first, there weren't anything I wanted to buy, so I logged out.
However, everyday you get an e-mail about the sale of the week.
....and I couldn't help, but order few things.

I got the first part of my order...

Lorac Baked Matte Satin Eye Shadows
for
only
$2.99 ea.

Of course you add tax and shipping, and those colors are no longer available from Sephora,
but how on earth you can buy $19 Lorac eye shadows for almost $3 from anywhere else, huh?

That's a real steal!
......and the colors are gorgeous! Can't wait to wear them.

Chic is a white eyeshadow

Social is a warm brown eyeshadow

Posh
(I was expecting it to be grey, because that's how it looked on the website,
but it's a yellowish flesh color,
but it's really pretty and would be a good highlighter)

Insider is (I am not sure how to discribe it) light navy color

Only black eyeshadow is not a baked eyeshadow,
so the packaging is different,
and I was expecting it to be Jet Black,
but it's not.
I am kind of disappointed, but that's ok.
You can't even buy nice drug store eyeshadows for this price.

Rock & Republic and Juicy Couture Hauls from HauteLook is coming up soon...

XOXO

My Favorite Youtube People

I want to mention the people I am watching on Youtube.
I know I should say Youtube Gurus,
but to be honest it's so not easy to be a Guru!
No offense.
I just think people call themselves Guru easier than they would dare ask for a glass of tap water in a posh restaurant for free.

Of course there are real make up artists on Youtube and they deserve the title,
but they already have a title; they are make up ARTISTS.
They truly are artists, because they know how to transform average person to an incredible creature.

The rest?
They are girls playing with make up.
No offense again!

There are some sweet, genuine people that I like watching,
and there are some that I watch just to hear what she is going to babble this time.

So,

My favorite Youtube people are,
(I am sure most of you already know them)

Gemma - Gemmasmaquillage & unicyclephysics Big Old Chat
Sara - SWalker Fast and Festive
Fleur - Fleur de Force Skin Care Routine
Ingrid - Missglamorazzi W/o make up again
Jim - j1mmyb0bba Smell like James Bond
Budgetbeautiful Haul (drug store make up from a down-to-earth girl)
I truly believe they are genuine.

Isn't it funny except Ingrid and Budgetbeautiful (I think) all these girls are British.
Go Brits! Yay :)

and my favorite make up artists are

Wayne Goss -Gossmakeupartist Naked Make up
Koren - Enkoremakeup Color Collectors & Color Adjusters
Lisa Elridge - lisaelridgedotcom Everyday Make-up

In terms of creativity
Sam and Nic - Pixiwoo Accidental Black Swan & ''I do this for myself'' look

I think the best eye make up performer who is not a make-up-artist is
Julie -  Julieg713 Eye make up

The best make up performer who is not a professional make up artist,
but an anchorwoman is
Emily -Emnoel83 Flawless Make up

Of course that doesn't mean that others are not good,
I am just not subscribed to too many people,
and some people are really high of themselves,
but there is no need to point finger,
I am never the one to talk behind people's back.

To see how great these make up artists just watch their videos (if you haven't watched already)
and you will understand what I am talking about.

These are my favorite Youtube people,
and it's just my opinion you don't have to agree with me.

Who would think of that! Part 2

I know I should have posted this one first,
because this one is the first part of British make up artist, Lisa Eldridge's interview with Madeleine Marsh witer/historian,
but first I watched the Vintage Make-Up 1940's to 1970's video,
and I found it fascinating,
but I was quite mistaken.
The first part of the video Beauty - Victorian Era to 1930s is even move fascinating.
It's a definitely must see video.

Enjoy!
XOXO

Who would think of that!

I was checking out my e-mails, Facebook and Youtube this morning as usual and
I have watched Fleur de Force's new video What I love about you tag

I always wonder what Youtube girls are whatching.
So, I checked out the people she mentioned in her video,
and I found about Lisa Eldridge.
If you didn't know, she is a British make up artist.
Fleur mentioned how big she is, but for non-Brits like me I had no idea.

I have watched two of her videos and I already liked her style.
I like people who use minimal make up and still can get the flawless, perfect look.
Lisa is one of them!

Without make up she looks quite average and nothing extraordinary (no offense),
but I loved how polished and still natural she looked after she has done her make up.

Then I watched another video of hers and I am totally amazed.
The video was called Vintage Make up 1940s - 1970s

As we all know 1940s is the WWII era
and when you think of war,
you think of first aid products and food shortage,
but who would think make up was one of these things that women couldn't obtain?

Of course when you and your loved ones are fighting for their lives,
not having your regular make up products sounds silly,
but us, women always want to look our best,
not to get others attention, but to feel good when we checked our reflection in the mirror.

Of course we can argue on how we should love ourselves, and not the image make up created,
but let's be honest; if we don't have the perfect genes, and if the stress signs show up on our face, or we have discoloration, acne, etc etc, we can't help but use make up to have a flawless skin and healthy looking cheeks, at least.

So, during war time, there was a shortage in make up production,
because companies couldn't even obtain the raw materials.
So, they had to sell their powders without powder puffs/sponges and attached a note explaining that.

I found it quite extraordinary, because it's not something you think about when you think of war and difficulties.
I highly recommend you to watch the video,
and see how make up colors and packaging changed from 1940s to 1970s.

Shelves Full of Perfumes

Last month while I was Googling ingredients of a perfume I used in the past,
I found this website Fragrantica.
Not only you can see the ingredients of thousands and thousands of perfumes, but you can click and choose one of these buttons;
I had it,
I have it,
I want it,
I like it,
I love it,
I hated it.

Then you create your on perfume shelf!
It's not only fun, but also helpful to remember what perfume you had in the past
and why that perfume reminds you of another perfume you used,
because you can see all the notes in the perfume.

Then you can also pick your favorite perfumes,
and your signature perfume.
When you search a perfume that you want to see the ingredients,
you can also find out how popular that perfume is,
and you can read others review on that.

On the left side of the page, the website recommends you other perfumes from the same brand,
and similar perfumes from different companies.

.....and the bottom of the page you see an e-bay link of the perfume you are viewing.
If it is something you couldn't find anywhere else it's convenient to have direct link of the product.

One downside is there is no share my perfume shelf link.
That's one thing Fragrantica is missing!

Have you heard...?

I am introduced to ShopSquad by a twitter member.
I'm a newbie but I liked it already.
My friends' always come to me when they need an advice and when they need to hear the truth.
If I hate one thing,
that is seeing my friend not being true themselves and hurting themselves.
So, I have zero bull s*** tolerance-excuse my French-and I always speak my mind.
That's why I loved this website.
Come and ask questions about make up, computers, baby care, what ever you want
and you will find a real person online to answer you,
and it's free.
You don't have to buy the products they suggest,
but it's always good to talk to different people on products you need or you plan to purchase.
So, if you are gonna shop any time soon check out ShopSquad first.
My screen name is Whitemintycandy just like my twitter name,
but you can also chat/web cam with who ever you want.
I know what a hassle it is to buy a product and regret it and to return it back,
so today before you click the confirm button to purchase whatever that is that you want to buy,
ask someone on ShopSquad,
even I will ask to others on ShopSquad before shopping again :)

My Make Up Collection

*I have high end and drug store products in my make up collection,
and believe it or not some of my favorite products are not the expensive ones, but the cheap ones! :)

I thought I didn't have too much products, especially eye make up products,
but it turned out that I have quite a lot of make up products.

However, I am glad I don't have as much as some people (eg:Youtube Gurus)
It shows that I have just what I need,
I am not buying just for the sake of feeling happy.
I am not using all the products I have,
because I am either bored
or not happy with those products.

I plan to get a BB cream,
because I know how amazing it is (my Dermalogica beautician used it on me onces)
and I want a good tinted moisturizer
and a liner that will stay on my water line,
then I can join the Project 10 Pan
